Gifts For Your Grad

Graduation season is upon us! This is a super exciting time for everyone involved, but with that excitement comes the pressure to get just the right gift for your high-school or college graduate. Whether you’re looking to spend a lot of money on an investment piece, or just get something fun that your grad will enjoy, there are tons of options! Here are some of my favorite things:

Jewelry is a GREAT gift for a high school or college graduate…this is the time for you to invest in timeless pieces that they’ll treasure forever & will look back on & remember this day. David Yurman [available at Saks Fifth Avenue] is a popular go-to for special occasions like this, their pieces will never go out of style and are definitely worth the price. Also, watches make great gifts…Michael Kors makes stylish, quality time pieces such as the one shown here. Monogram necklaces are also classic, you can pick gold or silver depending on the persons specific style & even pick the size of the monogram. For a more economical gift, Dogeared [available at Nordstrom] makes amazing necklaces that all come with special meanings attached to them…the one shown here represents “good fortune”, which is a great sentiment for someone who is graduating. Also, Kenneth Jay Lane [available at Shop Bop] makes great, stylish pieces which are more affordable!

If you need to get a gift for a student who is technologically savvy, there are lots of cool options. You can’t go wrong with any Apple product, like the iPad 3 or iPhone…there’s also tons of stylish covers, cases and bags available for these products. I personally LOVE the Dannijo iPhone cases [available at Shop Bop], they’re so unique & fun! Another great gift for a grad is a new camera…Nikon is a great brand and their cameras not only produce quality photos, but they also come in chic colors like white & pink. If you’re looking for less expensive options & your grad already has a camera, a cool camera bag like the one made by Marc By Marc Jacobs [available at] is a great choice.

Lastly, if your student is about to embark on some kind of trip/vacation, or if they’re just going away to college, it’s a great idea to give them some type of luggage, bag or travel accessory as a graduation gift! A full size rolling luggage piece is always nice to have…I personally adore the line made by Missoni for Bric [available at Bloomingdales]. To go along with the idea of flying, a cute luggage tag or passport cover is a nice gift at a lower price. Cosmetic cases [Tory Burch has adorable ones] and carry on bags are also good ideas! I also think a really meaningful gift to give a student is a timeless purse, like a vintage Chanel bag [available at Shop Bop] that will never go out of style. Wallets are also awesome gifts and a little more reasonable as far as pricing goes…Rebecca Minkoff makes tons of hip styles [available at Zappos].
