Thursday, October 25th I was lucky enough to participate in Neiman Marcus’ CUSP grand opening party!
4 other bloggers & myself showed a fashion presentation which consisted of 4 looks…the final look was put on display to be voted on all weekend by Neiman’s customers. The night was full of fun! There was food, drinks, a photo-booth, & even a caricature artist doing fashion drawings…I had a blast & loved the way my 4 looks turned out on the runway!
This look features items that are borrowed from the boys, with a mix of greens and digital prints. The ombre paisley print jacket brings out the menswear inspired trend this season, while the all over sequin top with a straight hem and hidden zipper down the back adds a little sparkly, girly touch. The leather collared blouse is great, I always tell my clients to have a few thin silk blouses with interesting collars for layering. The printed denim is the biggest trend you’ve ever seen, you can pretty much put denim in any color, texture or print and it works. This specific one is a Monet-inspired jegging which works to help build the mixed-greens look. For the booties, going with the same hue of green creates a uniqueness as well as elongates the leg!
This look is super fun for a party or a night out on the town! The fur vest features a luxurious faux fur in an elongating silhouette, and the scalloped sequin top evokes an image of the glamorous 20’s. The shorts are awesome for Florida weather paired with a nude fish net tight. The DVF clutch adds a pop of color and the slouchy knit cap hat completes the look!
This look is a little more trendy elegant, & perfect for fun holiday parties or New Years! I love mixing the materials with the fur & silk dress. The chain belt adds a waist so that your figure isn’t lost with the bulky fur. Black tights make the outfit appropriate for cooler weather, & the clutch adds a fun pop of color. The jewelry ties everything together!
My final look was a true nod to menswear with the full pant suit. Women can rock this look by wearing it in a bold color like this teal, and mixing patterns with the striped shirt and paisley tie. I added broaches all over to complete the look and make it a bit more edgy! This was a “styling” competition after all.
